We met Karen Weiner while passing through Port Moody, one day, checking out the area. We were considering selling our home in New Westminster and moving into a townhouse. Karen was very friendly and pulled out a map to show us where everything in Port Moody was located. Karen stayed in touch with us by email with information about properties that she thought might be a good fit for us.
When Karen offered to come and do a free evaluation of our home, we accepted. We decided to list our home and Karen was full of suggestions and assistance to help us increase our curb appeal. She even hired a professional photographer to come and take photos of our house, inside and out, for the web and the information packets.

Our Open Houses fell on the Canada Day long weekend, but that did not deter Karen. She enlisted another realtor to give up their long weekend and they spent Saturday and Sunday graciously showing about fifty potential buyers through our home. Our search began with townhouses in Port Moody and moved from there through Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. Along the way our focus changed to single detached houses. We finally choose a beautiful home in a lovely neighbourhood in Maple Ridge. Karen was great. When the former owners didn't move out on time, she was there to deal with it. When we discovered the terms of the contract had not been met, Karen took care of it.

Before we moved from Ontario, we were concerned about living costs in BC. When we mentioned this to Karen, she sent us some BC newspapers ads for houses, furniture and groceries. My husband left for BC alone first, and Karen assisted in finding him a temporary rental basement apartment. I stayed in Ontario to sell our house, and get our mortgage transferred to BC. Karen quickly compiled a list of properties in our price range and the area we were interested in, and my husband was able to find a suitable property within a few weeks. We were able to arrange the sale of the Ontario house and the purchase of the Burnaby house simultaneously, and avoid renting between houses. Karen then assisted with the purchase and transfer arrangements, and we are now happily living in our new home.
